Just a Note from a Former Trucker Now RVer

Just thought I would let you know that many truck drivers resent having RVs park in truck parking at a truck stop. There is no worse feeling then having a $200,000 rig taking up two spaces with popouts, etc. when you are tired and need to take your manadatory ten-hour break. The situation is much worse the closer you get to major metropolitan cities. There is a terrible shortage of truck parking (as you can imagine, us RVers are often not allowed to park many places also). And the situation is worse as the drivers' hours of service has changed. I would ask my fellow RVers to be very sensitive about this issue. I have found that there is much more RV parking available than there is legal semi parking. Not trying to tell anyone what they can or cannot do, but a little respect can go along way for everyone. I understand that we also buy fuel, etc. but like I say, often trucks have simply no choice but to park in a truck stop. Happy Trails
