Is It Safe?

Is It Safe?

Safe? In a word, yes, however I think it is very subjective. Some people are afraid in their own homes and live inside bars and high tech security systems while others (like us) often leave their doors unlocked when away for a few hours. If we see a rest stop that looks like a high crime area or with gangs of youths hanging around, of course we won't stop there.

When we do stop, it's only for a few hours sleep. We stay closed up and keep a low profile so as not to invite attention. Have we ever been robbed, had a break-in, or even been threatened, no, but we have been rousted by the law a couple of times and told not to stay there (No Overnighting). I think it is a matter for common sense and probably a bit of luck too. If you are worried about all the many things that could possibly go wrong, you wouldn't have any fun at all. You may disagree, but that's my philosophy.
